1 East is a one-of-a-kind service where addiction medicine and mental health support come together, co-located under the one roof. Our unit features eight beds dedicated to sub-acute alcohol and other drug withdrawal treatment, alongside nine beds for acute mental health care.
At 1 East, our dedicated team of specialists in addiction medicine and mental health is here to provide personalised care tailored to each individual’s unique journey. We understand that everyone’s path to recovery is different, and our diverse staff are committed to supporting you every step of the way.
We provide care and support in our adult mental health inpatient unit. Our inclusive approach involves working with individuals and their support networks to develop personalised treatment and recovery plans, with access to a multidisciplinary team. We encourage involvement in all aspects of care, including liaison with community providers, while maintaining a smoke-free environment to promote recovery.

AOD Unit – currently, we prioritise your journey towards recovery and self-improvement by maintaining a policy of no visitors. This helps create an environment where you can fully concentrate on your healing process, free from external distractions.
Mental Health Unit – currently, we welcome visitors between the hours of 9.00am and 8.00pm. Please discuss with the nurse in charge.
