Consumer Register Information

If you would like to provide us with your feedback and help improve our services then we encourage you to join the Eastern Health consumer register.

The consumer register is a group of consumers, carers and community members who are interested in hearing about opportunities to participate. Being on the register is different to volunteering because it is more about expressing your views and having a say. It is about you choosing how and when to participate. Sometimes your participation might be via email and other times it might be an ongoing commitment to be part of an Eastern Health committee. Examples of ways that members of the consumer register can participate include:

  • Attending a focus group or workshop about a particular health service or health related topic at one of Eastern Health's sites
  • Some times, the commitment may be longer term – there may be opportunities to become a consumer representative on a quality and safety committee or working group with Eastern Health staff

Members of the consumer register will be supported by Eastern Health in the following ways:

  • Receive a handbook that explains the consumer register and your participation
  • Reimbursement for reasonable out of pocket expenses such as transport and parking for participation activities
  • Have access to a support person to answer questions about the register and participation at Eastern Health
