All referrals should be directed to the Infant, Child and Youth Access Team during the following hours:

- 9:00am – 5:00 pm Tuesday to Friday

If you require immediate, urgent mental health assistance call 000 (24 hours) or Eastern Health Psychiatric Triage Service on 1300 721 927 – this number will be answered 24/7 -Urgent support.
During the conversation with our access clinicians, the young person will be asked a number of questions to understand what their mental health concerns are, and to determine the most appropriate next steps, including assessment and treatment with one of our community-based teams. This may take up to 30 minutes and they may also request consent to obtain further information from other involved health, welfare, or education professionals.
Prior to making a referral, it is recommended that community supports including your GP, school welfare counsellors or community support services are considered.
If we are the right service to assist you or child/young person, we will endeavour to allocate you to a team geographically close to your home, though acknowledge this may not always be possible.
