Tuesday, February 06, 2018

Newly redeveloped Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health has marked one year of delivering excellent patient care to the community.

To celebrate this exciting milestone, staff will gather for a celebration on February 8.

In the past year, Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health delivered 8127 episodes of inpatient care, 23,743 community health appointments, and 4367 appointments at the after-hours GP Clinic.

Although young, Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health has a rich history.

From its early beginnings in 1957 as Healesville and District Hospital, the Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health today continues to offer modern facilities and diverse clinical services for the local community.

Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health provides a range of surgical, community health, speciality medicine and general medicine services.

Site Director Paul Leyden said the local community has welcomed the redevelopment with open arms, and he is proud of the special milestone.

“We are grateful to our community for their wonderful support of the hospital’s redevelopment. The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s pleasing to see clients benefiting from the range of services available,” Mr Leyden said.

“We are grateful to our staff for their continued hard work and dedication, as well as local residents for their ongoing support. The hospital really is a cornerstone of the Healesville community,” he said.
